ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Drives all business-related decisions (scoping, design and schedule); engages other decision-makers as appropriate
  • Ensures all Business Functional and IVS teams required to deliver the portfolio Epic are appropriately engaged and resourced
  • Manages engagements with consulting vendors for the Epic
  • Ensures the Epic scope is aligned to the strategic vision
  • Ensures the Epic achieves the desired business value – i.e., the best business solution is achieved
  • Defines the Epic (scope, MVP, schedule, budget, success criteria)
  • Develops the business case and, when approved, works directly with the key stakeholders on the affected Release Trains to help realize the implementation
  • Aligns functional capabilities with architecture strategy
  • Drives cross-Epic alignment (capabilities, resource assumptions, timing, plans) 
  • Drives Epic implementation
  • Shepherds Epics through the Kanban system 
  • Provides guidance to the Release Train on the Epic context of the target features
  • Leads Epic PI planning, system demo, and solution demo whenever there is critical activity related to the Epic
  • Works with the Agile teams that perform research spikes, create proofs of concept, mock-ups, global design, etc.

Qualifications

  • Experience with broad business exposure and direct experience in implementation of business change and process improvement initiatives.
  • Degree in Business/Engineering/Manufacturing. MBA with focus on Operations or Strategy; 10 years’ leadership experience in lieu of an MBA
  • Experience in three or more value chain functions preferred
  • Operated in both global and non-global (geography/liaison office/field office) organizations
  • Demonstrated success in delivering results leading cross functional teams
  • Ability to grasp technology concepts/functionality and translate to business capability
