Senior Director, Marketing- Upmarket Card MarketingCapital One is seeking a Senior Director to drive new customer marketing strategy and acquisition marketing for its consumer credit card business. This critical, high-profile leadership role will lead the development and delivery of marketing to prospects for the Upmarket segment. This role will forge close relationships across US Card to develop a shared agenda and drive the full spectrum of marketing activities including pre-customer, acquisition marketing, brand, creative strategy, media strategy and consumer insights.

This role will capitalize on innovative approaches to develop high-impact marketing strategies and drive our powerful brand from good to great. The right candidate must have deep marketing experience and thrive in high-performing, analytical environments that encourage creativity and risk-taking. They will work seamlessly with internal, cross-functional teams and external agency partners to deliver the brand and building marketing programs.

The Senior Director will report to the Managing Vice President of Upmarket Marketing. Other key relationships will include Capital One enterprise brand marketing, corporate strategy, product development, digital design, performance marketing, risk, and legal teams. We are looking for an individual with superior leadership skills along with a deep understanding and vision for marrying the Art and Science of marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive overall brand-building for the Upmarket business, defining a unique value proposition that differentiates Capital One's products and services in a competitive market.
  • Influence senior leaders on product development, positioning and channel strategy
  • Lead the development of actionable segmentations for Upmarket segments basedon customer insights, data and analytics.
  • Contribute to building a world-class 'design thinking' capability at Capital One; leverage empathy-driven customer insights and create an ethos of human-centered design for UM marketing.
  • Drive recommendations to deliver on Capital One's business goals that are grounded in consumer insight and analysis

  • Collaborate across Capital One to uncover, initiate and improve full customer lifecycle marketing
  • Develop fully integrated "digital-first" marketing plans that leverage all relevant marketing opportunities, including content, social, digital, PR and all other channels.Lead multi-channel strategies to widen the funnel and generate new prospect leads. Ability to lead a team to architect, implement, measure and optimize strategies that cross all channels.

  • Lead development of the creative strategy, including advertising and sponsorships, ensuring alignment with Capital One brand standards.

  • Drive segment based strategy for acquisition marketing across existing and emerging channels.

  • Lead and develop a team of marketing strategists, while also leveraging an extended team of cross-functional experts (analysts, brand advertising, creative, operations, legal, and tech).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in awareness and direct response consumer marketing

  • At least 4 years experience in digital marketing, including Display, Email, SEM, SEO, Social

  • At least 4 years experience managing teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or Business

  • At least 7 years of experience in direct marketing and Brand management in a B2C environment

  • At least 5 years of experience in digital and product marketing

  • At least 3 years of work experience in financial services
