The Director of Human Resources position is a true generalist with demonstrated competence in multiple functional areas including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, reward and recognition programs, employee engagement, and knowledge of employment policies and law. This role will support multiple client groups and will be located at our company headquarters in Parsippany NJ on a regular basis.

The HRGeneralistpartners with the Corporate HR Team and with Solix leadership to deliver results driven, high performing diverse and inclusive culture, and continuous learning and improvement at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee relations and performance issues while ensuring a positive and effective work environment. Conduct investigations related to concerns and allegations, prepare documentation and collaborate with management and Legal to resolve issues and implement corrective actions up to and including termination. Provide guidance to Solix leaders on employee performance management including coaching, counseling, employee development, and disciplinary actions.

  • Work closely with hiring managers for the recruiting and staffing process, including but not limited to, manage requisitions, source, screen, and identify potential candidates, and maintain applicant tracking system. Schedule onsite interviews with hiring managers, collect and discuss feedback, consult with management on hiring decisions, and make job offers upon approval. Prepare and collect new hire paper work and ensure a smooth onboarding process. Performs on-boarding activities for new hires.

  • Provides HR administrative support to employees and in assigned client groups regarding HR programs, practices, policies, legislation and regulatory requirements including interpretation of policy, identification of risk, impact to the business and recommended solutions (e.g. organizational design, talent strategies, diversity and inclusion, etc.).Oversight for and administration of annual performance management, compensation review process and training.

  • Ensures HR policies and procedures are current, relevant and effective to drive performance results, contribute to a highly engaged workforce, enhance moral and retention rates, and align to business priorities.

  • Track, maintain, summarize and analyze HR metrics and reporting to management on a quarterly and annual basis. Present interpretations and recommendations to management on improving and correcting negative workforce trends.

  • Maintain various HR systems and process paper work.

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree plus 7 – 10 years related experience; or at least 10 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Master’s degreedesired. PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven history of delivering both the business unit and HR mandates successfully.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to analyze and assess organizational needs and provide solutions.

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations, including wage and hour.

  • Self-motivated with strong follow-up, including a strong sense of autonomy, and holding others accountable for delivery of commitments.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to maintain effective and positive business relationships with all levels of staff and to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Ability to implement HR related tasks, processes, and projects to ensure smooth daily HR operations.

  • Ability to make sound and unbiased decisions.

  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

Other Requirements:

  • Work location: Parsippany, New Jersey

  • Travel is required at 10% of the time

  • Occasional work outside of regular schedule
