Job Description

At IDEMIA our Civil Identity Engineering teams are responsible for the development of new products and the technical execution of our programs, including product/program delivery.  Reporting directly to the Sr. Vice President, Civil Identity, the Senior Director, Engineering Transformation will drive improvements in the quality, efficiency, and cost of the Engineering team and its work efforts.  The successful candidate will be a technically strong, highly effective change agent with the emotional intelligence to manage conflict.  S/he will be  thorough, conscientious, customer-focused, and able to collaborate effectively with our Integration Team, business leaders, Program Management Office (PMO), and other stakeholders. 

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Refine organizational strategy for Engineering Transformation in order to better meet commitments to our employees, our customers, and our shareholders
  • Review current state of the organization and prioritize areas for process improvement, changes to organizational structure, training, skills mix adjustments, and upgrades to Engineering tools
  • Mentor teams in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and determine feasibility.  Ensure that the right initiatives are undertaken, and that the benefits are fully realized
  • Work with teams to develop detailed plans for selected transformation projects that deliver discrete, measurable improvements
  • Lead/drive the execution of selected transformation project plans
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness and results of individual projects
  • Represent the Civil Identity business line in various meetings related to organizational integration, to include presentations to senior leadership to the CEO level

 

   

RequiredSkills

  • Familiarity with U.S. Government system engineering standards, product development processes, architecture frameworks, and contracting methodologies   
  • Previous Engineering and/or Quality leadership roles in the design, development, delivery, and/or sustainment of products/systems with a government systems integrator, and/or a U.S. company with a mature integrated product development process
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Lean Sigma, Black Beltpreferred)
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) during program execution
  • Proficiency with MS Project

RequiredExperience

  • BS/MSdegree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related subject·
  • 10-15years’ experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or Program leadership;  well-rounded leadership skills, proven effective in a matrix organization
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government system engineering standards, product development processes, architecture frameworks, and contracting methodologies   
  • Previous Engineering and/or Quality leadership roles in the design, development, delivery, and/or sustainment of products/systems with a government systems integrator, and/or a U.S. company with a mature integrated product development process
