Senior Director, E-Business

Role Summary

Manages the development, implementation, and coordination of internet marketing strategies to optimize the online user experience, increase marketing effectiveness and improve customer satisfaction.  Manages merchandising product placement, pathing, promotion and content to optimize conversion and consideration.  Takes the lead in campaign management, product launch/transition, online merchandising and end-to-end conversion.

Principal Accountabilities

Directs the development of global e-commerce programs and overall website strategy to maximize brand presentation, consumer experience and support the integrated internet marketing strategy for the company.  Drives analysis to deliver business impacting changes to the commerce platform.  Drives cutting edge strategies around online demand generation like behavioral targeting and CRM targeting. Understands emerging technology and how to bring those solutions to the customers.

Principal Responsibilities

Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the group. Manages the hiring, staffing and maintaining of a diverse and effective workforce.  Responsible for career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of team members.  Communicates and translates company vision/strategy to staff.  Responsible for executing on functional and business goals for the group.  Addresses problems across functional areas of the business.  Responsible for meeting budgetary goals and objectives.  Manages outside vendor relationships.  Applies broad knowledge of company’s product/service capabilities and competitive environment to identify new growth areas, new technology and emerging product/service opportunities.  Directs and controls the activities of internet marketing through senior managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of the function Develops corporate and/or organizational policies and authorizes their implementation Represents the company at online communities, media, analysts and the general public at large Provides direction to senior managers in various areas, groups and/or operations.  Recognized as an influential leader Interacts internally and externally with executive level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters Influences policymaking.


Requires in-depth knowledge of the functional area, business strategies and the company goals Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup Ability to manage in a matrix environment.  Ability to work effectively with senior management.  Possesses operational command of the business. Understanding of products and their value added to the customer Cross-Functional capabilities
