What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial, highly motivated, technical Sr AWS DevOps Developer to work in a Delivery Infrastructure DevOps team supporting buildout of a highly automated AWS Infrastructure pipeline for application & product teams developing security products in our Technology and Product Development organization.

You will help to enable our application and product delivery teams to bring existing and new products to the Cloud following the shared responsibility model. You will be part of a highly collaborative fast paced Agile development environment.

Work with the product and delivery teams to collaboratively drive new solutions, proof of concepts and help drive the architectural direction of the platform Infrastructure.
Produce analysis and design documents for proposals and implementation changes.
Enabling and supporting product delivery teams to use the Atlas Platform Delivery Infrastructure.
Maintaining and extending the Delivery Infrastructure.
All resources are managed via Infrastructure as Code.
Our platform also uses Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) to deploy and manage the containerized applications.
Setting up auto scaling EKS clusters and utilizing understanding of how EKS integrates with other Amazon services such as Amazon CloudWatch, Auto Scaling Groups, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC),
Promote cloud best practices to the application and product delivery teams, alongside developing and guiding the other delivery teams to develop reusable cloud enablers. (eg. Terraform templates).

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in DevOps and Amazon Web Services.
Willingness to travel.

About Verizon Communications

Verizon Communications Inc. is an American multinational telecommunications conglomerate and a corporate component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The company is based at 1095 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, but is incorporated in Delaware. In 1984, the United States Department of Justice mandated AT&T Corporation to break up the Bell System into seven companies, each a Regional Bell Operating Company, commonly referred to as "Baby Bells". Bell Atlantic, one of the Baby Bells, came into existence the same year, consisting of the separate operating companies New Jersey Bell, Bell of Pennsylvania, Diamond State Telephone, and C&P Telephone, with a trading area from New Jersey to Virginia. As part of a rebranding of the Baby Bells in the mid-1990s, all of Bell Atlantic's operating companies assumed the holding company's name. In 1997, Bell Atlantic expanded into New York and the New England states by merging with fellow Baby Bell NYNEX. Bell Atlantic was the surviving company name, and the merged company moved its headquarters from Philadelphia to NYNEX's old headquarters in New York City. In 2000, Bell Atlantic acquired GTE, which operated telecommunications companies across most of the rest of the country that was not already in Bell Atlantic's footprint.
