Senior Desktop Engineer

Amyris is seeking the ideal Senior Desktop Engineer who has extensive experience in a Windows Enterprise environment.  The candidate will provide the highest levels of professionalism, courtesy and customer service to our customers.  The candidate will provide technical leadership to the Client Services Team and resolve escalated issues.  This position reports directly to the IT Manager and will be an integral part of a team supporting over 300 customers. 

* Work with internal customers through a ticketing queue and provide a high level of desktop support
* Excellent PC troubleshooting skills in a Windows 7/10 and Office 2013/2016/O365 environment
* Familiarity with troubleshooting and configuration of macOS and Office 2011/2016/O365 on Mac
* Strong SCCM knowledge as you will be working under our engineer to assist in managing SCCM
* Package and deploy software and updates and provide reporting
* Assist in the management of our desktop/laptop image leveraging OSD including updates, improving performance and reliability and performing troubleshooting
* The ability to script, test and deploy automated solutions using various techniques, PowerShell, Batch, VBScript 
* Create and maintain project and procedure documentation
* Work in AD to maintain user accounts, groups, computer objects and GPO’s
* Work with scientists to configure and troubleshoot PC’s connected to laboratory instrumentation
* Experience with mobile device management (Intune)
* Polycom phone and video conferencing equipment, Digium Switchvox PBX experience a plus
* Work with other team members on and/or manage IT projects as assigned
* On occasion, be available for after hours or weekend support as required

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
* 8 years of enterprise-level experience
* Enterprise level expertise in Win 7, Win 10, Office 2016, Office365, SCCM, Scripting
* Experience with remote desktop management
* A solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, cabling and other network fundamentals
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
* Excellent customer service skills
* Energetic, highly self-motivated and able to work efficiently and be productive as a team member and individual in a growing, renewable products company
