Job Description

Arcadis is currently looking for a Senior Design and Construction Administration Engineer for the various US locations. Manages multiple projects with particular emphasis on large new construction projects with large amounts of complex electrical and mechanical equipment/distribution.

Responsibilities include:

  • On-site oversight and observation of construction activities being performed by various contractor disciplines
  • Observation and reporting of QA/QC of field work to conform with client's Plan of Record
  • Issuing defect reports of field work and following up to ensure they are remedied through corrective action
  • Facilitating communication between client personnel, construction contractors, and designer of record
  • Giving client confidence that the work is being competently observed and completed in the proper manner
  • Ability to manage and supervise a team of design professionals and other professionals through the design review process, ensuring design plans adhere to client requirements and are incorporated in a way that conforms to the client's program, budget, and legal requirements
  • Manages multiple projects, including engineering repair and critical repair, through interaction with Architects, consultants, contractors, and personnel to ensure timely completion of these projects
  • Oversees the building construction process to ensure compliance with clients standards and guidelines for the client by working with design professionals and various client administrators
  • Reviews design changes submitted to ensure project remains within budget
  • Monitors project planning and design/construction status to report findings, recommendations and updates to client management and executive personnel
  • Creating and driving as-builts and punch lists to completion
  • With excellent written and verbal communication skills

Required Qualifications

  • 10-15 years full time paid professional experience managing the facilities design and construction, or the planning and coordination of capital projects that included the overall construction field activities
  • 6-8 years of this experience must be with the design, planning and building construction
  • 3-5 years of experience working directly in the field with designers, contractors, and clients

Required Driving Statement

This position requires a current valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional degrees or certificates in Construction Management is preferred
