The Sr. Database Architect will be responsible for:

  • Design, develop and implement database systems based on customer requirements
  • Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development
  • Prepare design specifications and functional documentations for assigned database projects
  • Evaluate existing database and recommend improvements for performance efficiency
  • Develop best practices for database design and development activities
  • Convert high-level business requirements to actual code and data artifacts
  • Contribute to/Review/Prep/Update test cases for UAT
  • Write test queries for making sure stored procedure are correct
  • Contribute to the test plan/script execution in UAT (supported by Citizen's Testing Center of Excellence)
  • Contribute to the Production data validation effort
  • Participate in database design and architecture to support application development projects
  • Monitor and maintain maximum performance of databases and applications
  • Identify poorly performing queries and tune accordingly
  • Design and implement processes and procedures to reduce and eliminate database outages and downtime
  • Communicating with business stakeholders
  • Ensures technology roadmaps are incorporated into data and database designs
  • Working in project teams and mentoring less-experienced team members


Required Skills/Experience

  • 7 or more years of experience building high performing multi-step Stored Procedures with very complex logic on multiple database platforms (preferably one of which is Netezza)
  • Experienced with large (10TB or larger) Marts and optimizing structures and code to perform
  • Knowledge of database physical and logical design principals
  • Experience using command level not just desktop tools
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Good understanding of Banking SME/data content
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong communication and influencing skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Hours & Work Schedule

Hours per Week:  40

Work Schedule:  M-F 9-5
