What you’ll do

  • Help drive the design, architecture and implementation of new database solutions as the business transitions from RDMS to the Cloud based platforms
  • Analyze business requirements and design database solutions
  • Perform as a subject matter expert for databases in use at Premera, as well as remain knowledgeable in leading industry trends and technologies for RDMS, Big Data and related data related technologies
  • Build strong relationships at all levels of the organization (i.e. peers and leaders)

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related area of study or equivalent experience
  • Seven (7) years of IT related engineering experience working on relational databases
  • Understanding of Big Data and data life cycle management (MDM /RDM) concept in designing and building engineering solutions to meet different business requirements
  • Deep industry experiencewith Microsoft SQL as Sr. DBA
  • Experience with Windows Cluster, SQL Server Clustering, SQL Always-On, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS;
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills; ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to a non-technical audience at all levels of the organization (including oral presentations)
  • Strong desire to collaborate and work as a team player
  • Provide 24/7 support for on-call shifts
