Overview: Management Science Associates, Inc., (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for over half a century has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology. We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join the MSA Information Management Solutions (IMS) division which has been offering data and insight solutions to the Consumer Package Goods industry since the early 1980s.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide DBA services for multiple projects
  • Define, design and program data processing streams and implement databasearchitectures
  • Responsible for operations of data warehouse system
  • Assure efficient data flow, beginning with numerous raw data sources and ending with a highly tuned data warehouse providing web based report delivery
  • Design, implement and maintain complex functions of database systems including stored procedures, transformation services, triggers and OLAP services
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining all relevant documentation
  • Primary contact for the development of logical and physical database designs
  • Assists in all database functions including access, allocations, validity checks, security
  • Conducts backup, recovery and query tuning

Required Skills

  • BS or BA in Computer Science/Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years IT development background
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with design, implementation and administration of large ORACLE & SQL Server database systems
  • Knowledge of PL/SQL, TSQL, and Object-Oriented development
  • Multi-Platform experience on UNIX & Windows
  • Good design, development, administration skills are key, OLAP skills a plus
  • Knowledge of the extract, transform, load, star schema and end user access tools
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks
