What you will get to do: This position is responsible for maintaining Medica’s production systems to insure availability to customers. Individuals in this position are responsible for the data administration and management of relational systems in a distributed computing environment. This position requires in-depth knowledge of data-flow diagramming and logical data modeling practices, performance tuning and application maintenance. Experience with security, systems analysis tools and data interfaces/conversions is preferred along with ability to define and implement procedures and standards. Individuals must have significant experience in network and computer systems operations, preferably with a high-availability, customer served environment. Employee is required to accurately track work time based on project and /or daily work activities according to IT department guidelines. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Mathematics
  • 10+ years experience in supporting production database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server) in distributed computing environment
  • 7+ years experiencesupporting Microsoft SQL in high transaction applications
  • 5+ years supporting Oracle Exadata environments, including support for patching, storage rebalancing, etc.
  • 5+ years experience in Windows environments.
  • 5+ years experience in Unix system environments
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Relevant certifications preferable

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current database administration/management techniques and technologies
  • Demonstrated competency in developing and support effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
  • Ability to plan, organize, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact at all levels within the organization and to engage with external vendors
  • Good oral communication and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of network and system management, processes, and procedures
  • This position requiredon-call or after hours support that may include evening and weekends
