Essential Functions:

  • Partners with data owners and stewards to collect and maintain information on data assets
  • Leads cross-functional teams to define and document business and technical metadata
  • Facilitates workshops to capture business and data flows, identify gaps that impact the timeliness or quality of information, and define solutions to ensure outputs meet governance objectives
  • Performs data quality profiling on source data sets to assess its completeness, conformity, and reliability
  • Collaborates with business process subject matter experts across all departments to develop mechanisms and rulesets to validate the accuracy of data
  • Coordinates the development, implementation, training, and communication plans for Data Governance initiatives

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, economics, finance or related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • Ten years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or insurance analytics
  • Experience implementing Data Governance, Data Quality Management, or Business Glossary solutions
  • Project Management or Agile certifications preferred
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of metadata management concepts and processes
  • Superior analytical, investigation and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Governance frameworks and operating models preferred
  • Knowledge of business process mapping and data flow development techniques preferred
  • SQL extraction skills preferred
  • Knowledge of database and data modeling concepts preferred
