The Role

Lawyaw is a vertical SaaS platform focused on enabling the digitization of legal services. Our platform solves a foundational gap in the market by making it easy to incorporate programmable documents into digital workflows. As a result we are transforming the $150B consumer legal services market by making access to legal services faster, cheaper and more convenient. We are currently power over 1,000 law firms and growing quickly, but have so much more to build!

As a product driven vertical SaaS company, accurate customer insights about how they are using our product as well as the ways they are not is critical to the success of the company. As a data engineer at Lawyaw you will help build out the infrastructure and services that Lawyaw will use to make critical decisions from. You understand that data systems are both a science and an art. You have an insistent drive to find the objective truths in data and take pride in building services that make it easy for others to make data-driven decisions from.

We're looking for people with a strong background and passion for data. You are able to empathetically ask the right questions and answer them. You have a no-ego doer attitude and are driven by hard technical challenges.

You will

Build and maintain our core data infrastructure systems.
Identify the shared data needs across Lawyaw, understand their specific requirements, and build efficient and scalable data pipelines to meet the various needs to enable data-driven decisions across Lawyaw.
Design alerting and testing to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of these pipelines. (e.g., improve instrumentation, optimize logging, etc)
Work with teams to build and evolve our data models and data flows to enable data driven decision-making.

We're looking for someone who has

A strong engineering background and are interested in data. You’ll be writing production Python code.
Proven experience designing, implementing and evolving data pipelines, models and internal data processes that scale.
Has experience or is excited about leading and growing a team of data engineers.
