Job Description

The Sr Conversion Analyst (Data Conversion) is responsible for implementing and maintaining data conversion tasks for TELUS Health's Health and Welfare clients. He/she will take direction from Implementation Managers and Data Conversion Manager as needed but, will be able to prioritize and develop solutions/resolve issues independently or in a team environment.
  • A successful Sr Conversion Analyst must be able to effectively address problems that arise, providing clear explanation of the issue and a proposed path to resolution. He/she should have strong technology, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Works as a member of the benefits implementation team converting client data into TELUS Health's' proprietary database to meet the requirements of our new and existing clients.
    • Performs analysis on business requirements and produces conversion processes as required
    • Prepares project estimates and schedules of project activities as required
    • Interact with internal and external parties on conversion projects
    • Works under the supervision of senior members of a team and takes the initiative to get assistance when required
    • Sets high standards for own work and ensures high quality outcomes are achieved
    • Sets realistic and achievable expectations for deliverables
    • Promotes teamwork and collegiality in the work environment
    • Ensures effective work habits including quality, punctuality, responsiveness and accessibility to others
    • Complete special projects as assigned
    • Observes the corporate values of TELUS Health
    • Promotes TELUS Health as the service provider of choice in the industry
    • Other duties as deemed necessary by management
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Strong Development and Data Analytical skills required
    • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
    • Must have experience in developing data conversion processes and performing validation of pre & post-conversion data
    • Ability to think and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
    • Ability to translate business/free-form requirements and turn them into technical specifications and vice versa
    • Experience creating and maintaining SQL scripts
    • Ability to learn new tools as needed
    • Programming experience is an asset

    Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant software/computer related fields preferred
    • Benefits experience preferred
    • 3 to 5 years of relevant software system implementation or data conversion experience
    • Experience in SQL, database scripts, and MS SQL Server and other relational database systems (e.g., MySQL, etc.) is required
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience with multiple interface development/management tools, integration/interface data exchange standards such as XML, or other structured data formats
