Mastercard Shared Components group is on a mission to rapidly introduce and evolve common, internally consumed capabilities that are the foundation for Mastercard's product and service offerings globally. The successful candidate will act as the Release Train Engineer for one or more services within the Integration Components program and will be charged with ensuring Mastercard continues to deliver technical and innovation excellence. As a group, we have a Lean-Agile focus on delivering the right solutions to internal customers with the highest quality in the shortest lead times. You will drive a culture of agility and continuous improvement, leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for RTE's best practices, your extensive experience in full-stack agile, and your leadership abilities.
As an experienced SAFe Release Train Engineer, you will be managing and driving a SAFe Agile Release Train (ART) and be a servant leader. This person must be comfortable coaching and influencing senior leadership on behalf of teams, and ensuring a streamlined delivery to clients. The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). The RTE’s major responsibilities are to facilitate the major events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. RTE's communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, and help manage risk, and drive continuous improvement through objective measures, and serve as Chief Agile Coach for the program area.

Be the "Chief Scrum Master," agile coach, and program leader, molding teams to seek ways to improve backlog management, sprint reviews, quality assurance and in other areas.
The primary objective of the role is to bring teams together to make things happen – it’s all about leading, empowering, facilitating and communicating.
Work closely with product managers, product owners, program leads, strategic program management and system architecture to develop high performing Application Release Trains (ARTs).
Use tools such as program boards and information radiators to manage and improve flow of value thru ART.
Manage PI Planning readiness/events, and coordinate team PI objectives into an overall PI Program
Lead synch meetings, including ART syncs and ceremonies
Track & Escalate impediments to address critical bottlenecks
Work with Lean Budgets
Facilitate system and solutions demos
Be the voice of the teams to senior management, ensuring expectations are in line with reality.
Discover and solve any issues, roadblocks, risks or dependencies teams face and help prevent future issues from affecting team’s ability to deliver.
Facilitate quarterly planning, ensuring development, product management, and other teams are aligned and focused on the overall success of software solutions. Coordinate stakeholders and customers in feature planning, definition, and delivery.
Develop ART KPI's per iteration and increment, ensure transparency of backlog and reporting to management via metrics against KPIs.
Ensure continuous improvement through periodic reviews with leadership and stakeholders.
Participate in delivery coordination including driving major feature release spanning multiple teams with ongoing value-add to customers.
Be a continuous improvement leader, driving teams to seek ways to improve backlog management, sprint reviews, quality assurance and in other areas.
Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
Advocate for the needs of the release train. Ensure the project or effort is adequately staffed, trained and managed.
Demonstrate leadership qualities, display mentoring ability, project leadership and delegation, follow-through, and team participation skills.
Hands on experience with agile (Scrum, KanBan, with XP, SAFe or another scaling model), SAFe is highly preferred.
3+ years of practical experience as a Product Owner, Scrum Master or Agile Project/Program Manager or a combination of similar roles with a track-record of high-functioning teams and successful delivery.
Must have extensive agile experience in a software development environment, preferably with full-stack engineering and continuous delivery.
Successfully delivered several large-scale programs with multiple teams to building complex systems.
Experience having been coached formally and can describe the methods and value of the coaching for you.
Experience coaching others (especially scrum masters and senior leadership) and can share the challenges and what you have learned.
Experience formally training others (teams or specific roles) in agile methodologies and/or SAFe scaling program, a plus.
Significant experience using a variety of agile metrics and understand how to apply them, what they are telling you and where are there gaps.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, relationship-building and negotiation skills required with a solid track record for developing internal and external relationships.
