At Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Sr. Communications & Branding Specialist role is critical in creating communications strategies, content, and programs that bring to life the story of Technology, inspire Technology Teammates, and support internal and external Technology executive communications. As a member of the Office of the CTO, this role partners with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver key technology communication and brand initiatives to improve employee experience, communications, and Office of the CTO operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develop strategic messaging for senior leadership, by translating technology messages into communications for business leadership. Determine communication tools, provide talking points and scripts, and gain final approvals on messages.
Evaluate all communication activities and act as the final gatekeeper before messaging is sent to the Technology team. Ensure communications are organized, accurate, and delivered effectively. Challenge incomplete or conflicting communications to prevent audience confusion. Continually look for opportunities to enhance communication technology internally.
Identify opportunities to continue to enhance and elevate the Technology brand positioning and contribute ideas to brand plans.
Develop and/or deliver a plan for significant aspects of internal and external communications with input from cross-functional stakeholders.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level.
5-7 years of relevant experience.
Experience with organizational and executive communications.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies.
Strong understanding of technology concepts and the ability to translate them for non-technical audiences.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams, Forms, PowerPoint, OneDrive, etc.).
Familiarity with graphic design and video editing tools is a plus.
Analytical mindset to measure and analyze the impact of communication efforts.
