Job Description
The Senior Commercial Consultant will partner with market segments and product management to develop pricing models, price points and commercial policies with a focus on software/SaaS products. This position will play a key role in providing decision making support to segment, sales and product management leadership to optimize sales and revenue growth.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Development of pricing policies, standards and related governance while ensuring compliance with a focus on software/SaaS products
- Assist the segments in the development of software/SaaS pricing strategies and related tactics; commercial support on other products as well
- Manage/coordinate retail pricing adjustments (either up or down); including assessment, planning, recommendations and communications in conjunction with the business
- Ensure that business/pricing models are able to be systematically supported from quote to cash (operational infrastructure)
- Establish and maintain strong business partnerships and cross-functional relationships to develop creative options/ideas to grow sales and revenue and provide decision support
- Initiate continual improvement efforts that standardize and simplify business rules and processes
- Support major business projects, including the product migration to public Cloud and development of API commercials
- Ensure commercial & operational readiness and serve on committees to enable clean product/program releases occur and ensure existing business models, standards and processes are leveraged
- Assist in the building of a comprehensive database of Cloud and API sales, revenue and costs; including ownership of ongoing maintenance and updates
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, General Business or Accounting required; MBA preferred
- 5+ years experience in Pricing or Accounting/Finance
- Extensive experience in establishing software/SaaS pricing and modeling
- Proven project management skills with the ability to handle a diverse workload, prioritize multiple complex projects with deadlines
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to drive results in a matrix organization
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic analysis, financial model creation, and ad-hoc analytical analysis
- Strong experience with use of Excel, Business Objects, PowerPoint and other Windows programs. Working knowledge/proficiency in Alteryx and Tableau preferred. Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
