Senior Client Partner – the role

 

The Senior Client Partner at Quest Diagnostics is responsible for owning business and executive relationships, building trust and confidence through a consultative management approach by ensuring that the Project Teams deliver on its strategic value throughout the Demand, Project Planning to delivery phases of the Customer Journey.

 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Project and Program Portfolio Management, this role will be a member of the Healthcare Technology & Analytics SolutionsOrganization (HTAS) and will work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that HTAS delivers on its Services and commitments.

 

This professional will manage between 5 and 7 indirect roles as part of the Practice Project Team.  These roles will include but not limited to Program, Project, Planners and Schedulers.

 

Job responsibilities:

 

  • Participate in strategy meetings with line of business customers to understand business strategy, roadmap and timelines.

  • Demonstrate the strategic value of the partnership with the business and executive stakeholders of assigned customers (quantifying financial benefits whenever possible).

  • Work in partnership with the Business to ensure alignment on strategic, business objectives and excellent project execution.

  • Develop the Demand intake process artifacts. These deliverables may include: Executive Summary, Business Case with High Level Scope/Timeline, High Level Business Requirements, required Finance documentation, initial draft of the Project Charter and other items needed to justify the investment in these projects.

  • Work with peers, IT Architecture, Data Services and IT Operations team to leverage existing knowledge and solutions.

  • Actively manage Business demand for LOB. Drives prioritization of project requests with LOB and works with business partner to present projects to senior management at the Enterprise Steering Committee.

  • Manage the E2E Demand Lifecycle, and owns the Customer Journey.

  • Act as initial escalation contact for escalated issues arising from project teams.

  • Manage risk associated with change impacting their area of responsibility.

  • Make project-related scope, cost, and schedule decisions in consultation, as appropriate, with project stakeholders and senior management staff.

  • Provide strong project and portfolio team leadership. Champions team collaboration and teamwork across Portfolios and Practices.

  • Steer Project Team members to deliver on commitments; acts as a Business Advocate and liaison with IT.

To qualify, the ideal candidate will have the following:

 

  • 10+ years of account management or management consulting experience in healthcare or Computer Software

  • Background of prior consultative or business analysis expertise is required, showing experience in strategy development with strong persuasive skills.

  • Experience with solutions development and systems implementation preferred.

  • Proven ability to lead distributed teams; demonstrated leadership qualities.

  • Exceptional presentation and communications skills

  • Strong team player with proven ability to lead through influence

  • Requires excellent internal and external collaboration, influencing skills, and the ability to lead diverse cross-functional, virtual teams.

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field.

  • BRM (Business Relationship Management) Certification or equivalent preferred.

  • Advanced business degree desired.
