Burns & McDonnell’s rapidly growing Omaha, Nebraska Water Practice is in search of a Senior Civil Engineer. The Senior Civil Engineer will plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Will perform work which involves conventional engineering practices, but may involve a variety of complex features in the areas of hydraulics/hydrology, stormwater drainage, wastewater conveyance and treatment, and site development. Will provide design and field engineering support during construction. May coordinate project studies and report preparation assignments. Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Other duties as assigned
Candidate shall have a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited program as well as seven years related experience in site design and hydraulic analysis. The completion of a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to a broad area of assignments. Previous consulting experience preferred. Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, Civil 3D, InfoWorks, XP-SWMM and/or HEC-RAS a plus. Professional engineer license preferred.
