Plans, designs, and directs civil engineering projects such as roads, sanitary sewer and water systems, storm drainage systems to comply with local ordinances including retention and treatment, pipelines, and pump stations. Reports toEngineeringDirector and EngineeringSupervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.
Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data.
Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, constructionschedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project.
Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
Review plans of junior engineers for technical completeness and accuracy. Assist E.I.T.s in exercising professional judgement and gain technical knowledge.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Experience: Over ten years related experience and/or training
Design Programs: Knowledge of Microstation and Inroads desired but not required.
Licenses: Valid Drivers license
Professional Engineer's license
Ability to obtain Washington P.E. license through reciprocity
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financialreports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and clients.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations sufficient to learn and efficiently operate the engineering, design and drafting software system.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
