RESPONSIBILITIES: *The incoming candidate will be responsible for method validation of food matrices using ICP-OES and ICP-MS. *Identifies, initiates, designs, directs, and conducts research in the area of analytical chemistry leading to the development and implementation of new analytical methods for the company. Maintains competency in cutting edge analytical chemistry and chemical theory, and researches the feasibility of using this technology in the analysis of our products. *Fulfills the role as a technical consultant/troubleshooter when more generally defined analytical chemistry problems at R&D, plant, or QC labs are beyond scope of the plant/corporate personnel. *Initiates, coordinates, and oversees systems to improve assay efficiencies within the laboratory. *Validates methods to prove the analytical method is acceptable for its intended purpose QUALIFICATIONS: *A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with 5+ years of food chemistry experience (Master's Preferred) *Experience with analytical procedures and equipment such as ICP, GC, and HPLC utilizing UV/Vis, ECD, MS, MS-MS, etc...Experience with ICP-MS preferred *Organization or participation in collaborative studies *Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative and creativity. *Good interpersonal skills including good team building and management skills *An understanding of basic scientific principles. Experience with ISO 17025 is preferred. *Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have the authorization to work in the United States.
