The E Ink Process Development Team is committed to bringing the next generation of microencapsulated electrophoretic displays to the world, whether as part of the newest e-reader or in our developing signage and architecture applications. As part of the Process Development Team, the Senior Chemical Process Systems Engineer will be responsible for creating new, reliable pilot-scale chemical process systems.

Description

We are looking for someone that wants difficult problems to solve, in a supportive team environment, and who is highly motivated to make an impact on our products and processes. Ideally, you will have familiarity with designing and building specialized equipment or components and have expertise in creating part drawings. We're looking for someone who can help us build what we need, but also figure out what we should be building in the first place – creating and driving equipment-based innovation from pilot to manufacturing scales. We are looking to develop advanced processes for the next phase in our journey and you are excited to learn what we do and believe you can make it better.

Responsibilities

· Design new process systems including performing engineering calculations, creating PFD and P&ID's, creating fabrication drawings, selecting and sizing components

· Act as a technical leader and companywide resource on process systems and equipment such as reactor vessel design, pumps, mixers, temperature control systems, and sensors

· Hands-on assembly, modification, commissioning, and troubleshooting of new and existing pilot chemical process systems

· Act as inter-department resource to coordinate capabilities within Development and Research departments, communicate support needs to Facilities department, and ensure responsiveness to EHS requirements

· Vendor evaluation, selection, and management

Qualifications

· Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience

· Minimum 7+ years of industrial process systems engineering experience

· Knowledge of typical fabrication methods

· Working knowledge of the setup and programming of process controls including PID controllers, instrumentation, transmitters, VFDs, PLC's

· Basic electrical knowledge of wiring requirements for temperature sensors, analog signals, communications cables, power hookups

· Thorough documentation skills to complete detailed safety and process transfer packages such as Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures

· Clear and effective communication skills. Must be able to work with internal customers to identify system requirements and summarize them in a clear and concise manner

· Ability to function effectively as a member of cross-functional, cross-disciplinary, and inter-corporate teams

· Effective prioritization and time management to meet project goals / milestones

Preferred skills

· Basic project management skills such as creating budgets, timelines, and updates on multiple small projects

· Six Sigma / statistical analysis methods

· AutoCad proficiency

· LabVIEW proficiency

· Working knowledge of industrial codes (NFPA, NEC, ASME)

Salary

$100K - $110K
