Investigate and settle advanced, large loss, complex claims promptly and equitably within established authority including reviewing coverages, determining liability and compensability, arranging property damage appraisals, and evaluating and setting reserves.
*** Handle complex and unusual policy coverages including determining if coverages apply to claims submitted.
*** Manage all aspects of investigative activity on complex claims.
*** Assist supervisor and defense attorneys prepare cases for litigation.
*** Direct discovery and litigation strategy with legal counsel.
*** Settle claims promptly and equitably, and issue company drafts in payments for claims within authority limits.
*** Establish reserves and authorize payments within scope of authority, settling claims in the most cost effective manner and ensuring timely issuance of disbursements.
*** Analyze claims activity and prepare reports for clients, carriers, and management.
*** Develop subrogation and third party recovery potential and follow reclaim procedures.
