  • Purchased part sourcing to support (NPD) & New Product Introduction (NPI) of highly Engineered Products:
    • Lead Engineering on the sourcing and design for manufacturing of new products
    • Leverage Nordson strategic/preferred/approved suppliers where possible for NPD parts / services
    • Lead in the identification & qualification of new suppliers, required for NPD sourcing
    • Establish, maintain & communicate a strategic/preferred/approved supplier list for NPD
    • Avoid limiting sourcing to local suppliers, solely for expedient reasons when superior suppliers are available
    • Collaborate with Supplier Quality & Development Engineering on qualification of new suppliers
    • Negotiate & execute NDA’s, Supplier Agreements & Contracts, as required
    • Collaborate with Engineering on the technical expectations related to NPD purchase parts to achieve optimal supplier selection & strategic sourcing
    • Identify objectives for the NPD project quality, delivery schedules & cost target requirements.
    • Routinely measure results against the identified objectives & establish mitigation plans if the target objectives are not being satisfied.
    • Routinely participate in required NPD team meetings
    • Report updates for NPD project at Monthly NPD meetings
    • Contribute to the justification, negotiate & execute NPD capital tooling purchases
  • Purchased part sourcing to support for standard production:
    • P.O. Contract creation & management for standard production
    • Responsible for major purchased part cost reductions
    • Lead time reduction
    • Supplier on Time Performance
    • Cost and Quality Management
    • Scheduling Agreement / Vendor Managed Inventory Additions
    • Supplier relationship development & mgmt for standard production and engineered systems suppliers
    • Project management for lean projects to reduce engineered systems lead time
    • Purchased part ECO, CAR, costing, compliance & other administrative processing
  • All other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related technical field is preferred, other degree focuses may be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Procurement, Design, Manufacturing, and Process Engineering in conjunction with strategic sourcing, planning, supply chain, operations &/or project management experience is required.
  • An Associate’s Degree with at least 12 years of an engineering background may also be considered if all other requirements are met.
  • In depth knowledge and experience with Manufacturing Technologies, procuring multiple commodity processes (E.g. machining, resin, castings, molded parts, PCBA’s, electromechanical, sheet metal fabrications, wire harnesses, controls…)
  • Demonstrated, effective experience in negotiating, planning, and analysis
  • Prior knowledge of & experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Experience in SAP a plus
