Sr. Business System Analyst with Health Care ExperienceOVERALL PURPOSEThe Senior Business Analyst provides value-added analysis of population healthcare medical and pharmacy data. The incumbent demonstrates business and data understanding; provides advanced comprehensive reporting of healthcare data, statistical analysis, including predictive analytics, data manipulation, interpretation, presentation, and recommendations on specific courses of action.
DUTIES:The Analyst will design and develop reports and analyze data to measure clinical outcomes, operational, financial and network performance. Additionally, the analyst will investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and health care costs data.
- Translate business needs to technical specifications
- Maintain and support Source to Target Mapping for ETL
- Conduct unit testing and data validation
- Monitor incoming data files and manage data intake processes.
- Communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate and improve existing file intake process systems
- Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
- Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
- Develop and update various documentation including BRDs, STM, Test Scripts, Test case etc.
EXPERIENCE - Experience with Data Warehousing
- Experience in software development life cycle
- IT business analyst with experience in documenting and managing requirements
- Experience with both traditional Waterfall SDLC and Agile / Lean methodologies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience in a technical or business discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare analytic role demonstrating the ability to provide value-add analysis to compiled data
- Understanding of health care terminology and knowledgeable/experienced with some or all the following: provider data, claims data, pharmacy data, lab data, and enrollment data
SKILLS REQUIRED:- 3+ years of experience with Business Analyst techniques and tools.
- 3+ years of experience writing SQL logics, creating stored procedures and functions preferred
- Experience in Health Care information Data Transfer such as Members, Providers Claims and CMS files, or similar strongly preferred
- Strong aptitude for quickly troubleshooting and identifying the cause of questionable results within extracts and reports
- Strong Data Validation and UAT testing skills using SQL or other preferred methodology
- Demonstrated business analyst experience; communicating effectively with business clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions
- Possesses outstanding oral and written communication skills
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Communicate all issues, risks, concerns and status to management, business partners and other departments in a timely manner
- Work with stakeholders at all levels in the organization and across departments
- Delivering BI / DW solutions to end users
- Ensure Compliance and IT governance methods, processes, and tools are followed/used
