Our client, a global well respected financial firm is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join a group which is responsible for building a Global Markets Data Warehouse comprised of several data focused initiatives. This candidate will liaise with business and operations counterparts to gather requirements and understand needs and workflows. He/She will translate these requirements and produce function requirements and specifications for new features and enhancements to existing systems 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare gap and impact analysis considering all global instances of the Investment applications 
  • Primary interface for technology on new systems development, including background business context explanation and 
  • Detailed review/explanation of requirements and specifications 
  • Evaluate technology solutions from both a business and technology perspective 
  • Understand and evaluate impact of regional nuances based on product system and business differences 
  • Coordinate with the various support teams (QA, Production support, etc.) to track features and enhancements through the software development lifecycle 
  • Understand customer requirements and translate into technical deliverables across a wide array of products and technologies 
  • Interface with and collaborate with the technology and architect team to help identify and define services interfaces for SOA 
  • Partner with the business and technical teams and create and maintain the functional design for the various modules 
  • Identify, create and maintain functional requirements, user interface requirements and service interface requirements per the processes established in the organization 
  • Follow the SDLC process established in the organization and create and maintain all relevant requirements artifacts 
  • Support development, QC and UAT teams of the various projects 
  • Act as subject matter expert on the various domains 

Skills:

  • 10+ Years of experience working in the Investment Banking/Financial industry with MBA or business background
  • 5+ years of working in various data management initiatives, specifically working in data warehousing and data strategy and having functional knowledge of Securities Lifecycle (cross products) 
  • Experience with Portfolio management, Trading and Analytical systems and applications 
  • Strong technology background and ability to evaluate high level architecture down to detailed design and coding 
  • Proven experience analyzing business processes, identifying gaps and defining new functional requirements 
  • Very good problem solving and analytic skills, excellent presentation skills 
  • Very strong ability to grasp complex concepts and translate from business perspective in to technology understanding 
  • Work with Office tools like Word, Visio 
  • Strong data analytical skills, including experience with SQL and related tools 
  • Strong project management skills 
  • Experience with database application development (Stored Procedures, PL/SQL) 
  • A good understanding of Data Warehouses, Marts and Cubes
