Messina Group seeks a Senior Business Analyst for our client in Lansing, Illinois.
Reporting to the Director, Applications, the Senior Business Analyst’s role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, and operational systems to support our client’s core organizational functions and business processes.
Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The Senior Business Analyst is also responsible for operational support to research issues and determines probable causes and possible solutions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to maximize the benefit of IT system investments.
This job is further specialized by functional area: Chemical / Coatings Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products
- Meet with decision-makers, systems owners, and end-users to define business requirements/goals, and identify and resolve systems issues
- Conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Deliver assigned projects on time and on budget

- Working technical knowledge of (tools, languages, databases)
- Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts
- Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION
- College diploma or university degree in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, and/or 5-8 years of equivalent work experience.
- Specific experience based on the functional area:
- Chemical/Coatings/Manufacturing: 2-6 years’ experience with SAP Manufacturing Management
- (MM, WM, QA/QC, and EHS) solutions required.
