Essential job functions:

The Software Management Leader is responsible for managing licensing position for select software suppliers / products.
Scope:
• Annually Xerox spends significant dollars globally on Software.
• Assets across enterprise: 10,000 + servers and 40,000+ workstations/ laptops
• Software across enterprise: 2000+ active software products
• Focus on executing a software framework to improve control and maximize value of software
• Execution of this framework involves discussions with Major IT Software Partners Senior Executives.


RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accountable for compliance with contractual and licensing models for select software supplier and products.
• Accountable for management activities (demand management, renewals, audits, entitlement and deployment reporting) for select software.
• Identify issues, improvement opportunities, and risks for escalation
• Coordinates with other stakeholders to resolve complex licensing queries and issues
• Drives software supplier relationship with vendor in partnership with GP
• Deep understanding of licensing models, contracts, and pricing arrangements
• Optimizes consumption to maximize value of spend
• Report on compliance with contractual and licensing models for assigned software products
• Work on renewals / new contracts and upcoming software demand
• Manages software audits and situations
o Manages and coordinates overall Audit process with various functional areas including: Finance, Legal, Global Procurement, SAM Ops, Infrastructure and Platform teams, and Application teams
o Actively engaged in assisting and as required driving the execution of end to end ownership for managing licensing position and compliance
o Ability to work with virtual teams globally
o Strategically review information and draw summary conclusions
o Responsibilities include the overall planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the audit process
o Communicate professionally and effectively with senior management, internal and external partners
o Perform appropriate risk assessment and recommend mitigation plans
o Reporting on compliance with contractual and licensing models for assigned software products

Additional Requirements, Skills and Qualifications:

• Leadership experience in managing change, process execution and improvement.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in preparing and delivering senior management briefing.
• Deep understanding of licensing models, contracts, and pricing arrangements
• Experience managing supplier relationships and expertise in using License Management systems
• Deep understanding of licensing mechanisms and contracts, including interpreting licensing product use rights.
• Deep understanding of Software Asset Management lifecycle processes
• Experience in software procurement, contracts and licensing models
• Experience in data analysis and working with incomplete data sets
• Strong experience in Excel and other typical data analysis tools
• Strong analytical skills, decision making capabilities
• Ability to contribute ideas to address business issues
• Ability to take initiative, guide and influence others toward goals
• Excels in: collaboration, project management, communication and presentation skills
• Extensive experience in data analysis and working with incomplete data sets
• Very strong experience in Excel and other typical data analysis tools
• Very strong analytical skills, decision making capabilities
• Thinks logically and focuses on key issues.
• Ability to contribute ideas to address business issues
• Proven track record in driving cost reductions
• Background with financial reporting and strategy
• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Contract Administration, Finance, Legal or other related field.
• Equivalent work experience. Typically has 15 plus years of relevant technical or business work experience.
• Has wide and detailed IT and business knowledge.
• Displays good inter-personal skills at all levels of contact and in a wide variety of situations. Ability to interact with senior levels of management
• Demonstrated strength in problem solving and facilitation
• Possesses broad understanding of business and business skills.
• LSS Green or Black Belt.
