Due to ongoing growth and success in the province of BC, CGI is seeking an experienced business solution analyst to join our world-class IT solution company to fill a permanent full-time role in our Vancouver office. This role will provide support for application management and information technology services directly to our clients in BC.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

As an experienced business solution analyst, you will work in team of business, systems and technical analysts to deliver application and operations management services for a complex healthcare IT solution implemented in geographically dispersed data centers. You will realize success in this role not only by understanding the business and solution requirements, but also working collaboratively with our client and our service delivery teams.

You will take responsibility of fully understanding business requirements of the current solution to establish current state. You will work interactively with the customer and solution delivery team to access and document new and enhanced requirements. You will participate in evaluating, making recommendations and implementing a requirements management system that you will manage going forward through standardized documented processes. You will work collaboratively with the solution development, quality assurance and implementation teams to maintain a solution traceability matrix throughout the lifecycle of the solution.

Additionally, you will provide oversight for drafting, and upkeep of business processes and operational manuals that are managed through a comprehensive process library.

Key Responsibilities

Use modeling techniques and tools to capture and analyze business and solution requirements

Capture and document distinct business requirements

Document user stories and use cases from business requirements

Facilitate requirements gathering workshops with client and technical team members

Clarify business requirements with technical team members to optimize solution development

Collaborate with solution development and delivery teams to manage a full requirements traceability matrix

Assist technical analysts with identifying ongoing solution deficiencies against business requirements

Model and document business and solution delivery processes

Mentor and provide leadership to other business analysts as required

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems Management or a related discipline

A minimum of five (5) years working experience in requirements management

Requirements gathering and managing experience in both agile and waterfall delivery structures

Understanding of business requirements modeling

Experience in business process analysis and modeling

Proficiency with requirement and process modeling tools such as Visio

Proficiency with use of SharePoint and MS PowerPoint


Superior interpersonal, leadership skills

Superior English verbal, written and presentation communication skills

Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making abilities

Nice to Have:

Knowledge of Object Oriented theory and modeling such as UML

Experience in requirements management systems such as: Enterprise Architect, XRay
