As a senior member of the SWWC Business Development team, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing growth strategy and business development plan for our Texas business in conjunction with overall SWWC strategic plan
  • Identifying water and wastewater utility acquisition opportunities primarily in the Texas market
  • Partnering with the Managing Director, Operations and Finance in the development of acquisition capture plans
  • Managing LOI development to deal close in compliance with SWWC policies
  • Serving as Project Manager on specific acquisition projects that may be outside of Texas
  • Participating in the development of acquisition execution planning and implementation planning with Operations and support functions
  • Facilitating communications plans ensuring appropriate information is provided and exchanged among key stakeholders and conducts acquisition status review meetings
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of marketing and sale processes, industry trends and market place competition
  • Attending conferences and industry events to strengthen existing relationships, establish new relationships, and identify potential sellers
  • Maintaining a high profile in the Texas Water Utility sector

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management or related Engineering discipline
  • 7-10 years' related experience in business development. Water Utility/Utilities/Infrastructure/Energy related/Large Scale Residential Property Development sectors are a plus
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in prospecting and developing new business
  • Energetic, optimistic, self-motivated and a team player
  • Proven track record in account management, relationship development, project pursuit execution and closing deals
  • Network relationships and experienceworking with Municipalities, Developers and Utilities in Texas is a strong plus
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills in Project Management, Planning, and detailed oriented
  • Excellent sales, people and leadership skills.
