We are currently seeking a full-time Bridge Project Engineer to join our team. We are looking for someone with experience with state and local bridge design work in the Midwest. This person would assist with gaining work and providing structural design expertise and project management. MSA’s size and culture ensure that we provide extensive technical and marketing support for your success.


  • Design and eventually manage state and local bridge projects
  • Field investigations, evaluation of structural conditions and develop repair alternatives
  • Business development related to bridge infrastructure with current and future clients
  • Client meetings, prepare correspondence, reports, specifications and meeting minutes
  • Collaborate on responses to RFP’s
  • Communicate with clients, agencies, stakeholders, and the public
  • Serve as a staff mentor

Required Experiences:

  • 15+ years of prior bridge design experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures
  • PE license required
  • The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating with Departments of Transportation on bridge projects
  • Previous experience with project management and client relationships
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as solid personal and team skills

Preferred but not Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
  • Wisconsin, Iowa, and/or Minnesota PE license
