About the Role

We are changing the way healthcare uses data. About 80% of healthcare data is under used because it is too messy or unstructured to analyze. The healthcare industry needs technology solutions that can process this data and extract insights. This is the challenge that Apixio addresses.

Responsibilities

You will build and maintain modern data pipelines that make data available and accessible to the entire company
You will build and maintain scalable and fault tolerant microservices to promote a real-time streaming platform
As a Senior Engineer you will lead by example and build a culture of technical excellence within the team
You will be a tech lead for a small team of Software Engineers and take ownership over the quality of deliverables and future roadmap
You will gain expert understanding of our complex domain model
You will be encouraged to come up with strategies to simplify our models, identify and fix data redundancies and inconsistencies

Qualifications

Experience with server side Software Engineering
Experience working with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Business Analysts to understand their data requirements and build appropriate solutions and platforms
Understand the right patterns of breaking up a problem domain into communicating microservices architecture
Expertise building ETL pipelines
Experience with databases - both SQL and noSQL
Experience with technologies like Cassandra, Kafka, Hbase, Hive, Parquet, Impala, Presto, Redshift, Bigquery is nice to have
Experience converting business requirements into technical designs
