A&M's Turnaround and Restructuring practice offers critical assistance to companies that are underperforming, in a crisis, or are healthy, but with underperforming divisions. Working directly with company management, A&M helps stabilize financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital plans. A&M's involvement reassures creditors and investors that the company is taking steps to address its problems and maximize its value.

Our Turnaround Advisory professionals:

  • Address liquidity concerns
  • Stabilize core operations
  • Develop business plans
  • Review financial projections
  • Develop / review cost reduction initiatives
  • Implement cash conservation guidelines and controls
  • Implement ongoing communications processes with key constituencies
  • Identify and dispose of non-core assets
  • Assist in implementation of an operational restructuring
  • Manage creditor communication and negotiation processes
  • Develop pre-bankruptcy plans
  • Develop employee incentive plans
  • Assist with bankruptcy case administration


  • Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate business program or MBA
  • Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), or Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) or demonstrated progress toward such certifications preferred
  • 6+ years of work experience in corporate restructuring, investment or commercial banking, and/or consulting or corporate positions with a financial or accounting focus, 4+ of which is restructuring experience. 

Demonstrate an advanced level of experience with a number of the following areas:

  • Financial modeling, including analysis of financial statements and preparation of integrated 3-statement financial models without supervision
  • Ability to analyze cash flows and prepare a 13-week cash flow forecast model without supervision
  • Can contribute to development of a business plan
  • Ability to lead work streams and train staff
  • Understanding of the bankruptcy process and key operational performance drivers of a business
  • Ability to extract useful information from large sets of unorganized or incomplete data
  • Interaction with clients/personnel at all levels of a corporation and ability to supervise client employees
  • Use problem solving skills to provide alternative solutions to complex issues
  • Commitment to promoting integrity, leadership and objectivity
  • Entrepreneurial team player who can excel in a fast-paced, challenging work environment
  • Confident and efficient speaker, presenter and business writer
  • Shows potential to develop a network of restructuring industry contacts (attorneys, bankers, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel up to 100%
