The Role:

Tesla's Global Workplace group has an outstanding opportunity in Fremont, CA for a highly skilled Senior Architectural Project Manager to drive Office and R&D focused projects in support of its Engineering, Energy and G&A divisions. This individual will independently manage large-budget projects around the world through collaborative partnerships with a range of internal business teams.

  • Plan, design and project manage construction projects at Tesla, from scope inception to project completion
  • Provide space plans, test fits, design solutions and details, using AutoCad and 2D/3D drawings
  • Collaborate with internal business partners and shared service departments to define project scopes, business objectives, and the design/build/operation of new site build-outs, expansions and capital improvement projects
  • Partner with permitting authorities to procure all necessary approvals for capital improvement projects
  • Manage external Architecture and Engineering consultants and vendors
  • Engage with internal construction managers and provide continuous design support during construction phase
  • Ensure continual improvement of all regional Workplace Guidelines


  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecturerequired; Master’s degreepreferred
  • Minimum of 7years of experience working in the Architecture field
  • Expertise in applicable building codes, construction techniques and building materials
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), AutoCAD, 3D modeling software, SketchUP and Revit
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently while meeting aggressive time frames
  • Availability to occasionally travel to other Workplace locations around the world
  • Previous experienceworking with R&D and Lab intensive facilities/user groups preferred
  • Previous experience with corporate office design preferred
  • Previous experience with Core and Shell and/or international design preferred
  • Evidence of exceptional ability
