JOB DESCRIPTION
Ford is in the middle of Supply Chain Transformation. One of the key focus areas to enable this transformation is to ensure there is robust management of supply chain risk and assurance of supply to ensure demand for our world-leading products can be met optimally and reduce technical debt in the IT ecosystem.
This role will help drive the ongoing identification and implementation of technology solutions, solutioning of high-performing and thoughtfully architected software solution and business architecture that satisfy our internal business needs.
This role will work with other team members to effectively apply architectural best practices and forward thinking to build, enhance and sustain technology solutions that supports an organization that grows at an explosive rate
Specifically, this role will
- Solution/system Design of business architecture and roadmap.
- Utilize architecture best practices and standards in design and build.
- Design and document re-usable and scalable frameworks and components.
- Coordinate & collaborate with counterparts in other departments to ensure technology solutions are built for the enterprise.
- Assist management in making technology decisions by weighing in on risk and ROI
- Participate and contribute to yearly strategic initiative planning and funding discussions.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Other domain Architects and Lead Engineer to bring projects from concept to implementation.
- Serves as primary technical solution design architect for one or more teams and their systems and integrations.
- Serves as primary decision escalation resource for addressing architecture and integration issues affecting their team.
- Continuously drive improvements in areas like performance, security, automation, quality, monitoring, and reliability of platforms.
- Develops and maintains current and future-state architecture models and ensures all documentation is kept up to date.
- Keeps up with industry best practices, technologies, architectures, trends, emerging technologies and develops proof of concept projects to validate innovative ideas.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Future State Planning and Road-mapping
- Develop end to end capability views, resulting strategies and architectures
- Advise functional and technology leaders within product group in defining priorities, key initiatives
- Guide technology selection and transformation of ecosystem to effectively deliver business capabilities
- Concept and Business case development
- Assist in development of proposals for domain strategy development
- Lead proof – concepts through partnerships with engineering teams
- Solution Design and Facilitation
- Develop target and transition state architectures
- Manage project and architectural interdependencies between programs and product lines
- Domain Proficiency
- Demonstrate functional and business knowledge for multiple capabilities areas within the supply chain domain
- Continuous development of domain knowledge in both the industry and Ford Enterprise

- Develop partnership and influence others both directly and indirectly
- Provides coaching and support to team to achieve results.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Related
- Overall IT experience – 12 years
- 10 years of variety of technical environments, systems / applications development experience
- 5+ years of Architecture experience
- 5+ years of Business Process and system design
- 3+ years of Strategic planning
- 3+ years of functional and architecture modelling methods experience to include:
- Information/Data Modelling (Conceptual, Logical, Physical)
- Process Modelling (e.g. Process Flow, Critical Path, Swim lane)
- Business Integration Models (e.g. Business and IT Landscape, Interfaces)
- Diagramming (e.g. Rich Picture, Metaphors, Information Systems, Value streams)
- Experience with methods/tools for data integration & transformation (ETL, Profiling, Cleanup)
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- Experience with manufacturing principles
- Experience with Supply Chain Technology platforms – SAP, E2Open , Blue Yonder or related is a plus
- Experience in TOGAF, Zachman or other architecture framework is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Architectural Thinking
- Strong business consulting skill set (facilitation skills, written & oral communication skills)
- Self-Starter with ability to work both independently and within group/team environment
- Knowledge of Bill of Material planning, capacity planning, manufacturing, and logistics
- Experience with establishing Master Data Management (MDM) and Information Standards
- Experience in dealing with external suppliers/vendors with respect to consultancy and/or purchase solutions
- Knowledge of architecture frameworks, patterns, and reference architectures
- Familiar with Agile Framework, Rally and other backlog management solutions
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with architecture governance processes and conducting architecture reviews and evaluations
- Previous experience as architect on large scale product or enterprise initiatives
- Self-researcher with ability to research a technology and provide insight to product team.

- Good presentation skills with ability to communicate architectural proposals to diverse audiences (user groups, stakeholders and senior management)
