Sealed Air Corporation (SEE), worldwide leader in packaging solutions, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Innovation & Development (I&D) Applications, Development, and Support group in Charlotte, NC as a Senior Applications Engineer. Through this high-visibility dynamic role, this talented individual will be responsible for engaging with customers and the business organization to become the I&D expert on the benefits and challenges of the current offering within their portfolio. This individual will use their expertise to propose innovation strategies and products that align with the market needs. As new solutions are developed, this individual will define and validate the value proposition for new products and introduce these solutions to the market.


  • Provide technical solutions to customers, external vendors, field representatives, and the broader Innovation & Development organization through on-site customer support and visits to other Sealed Air facilities
  • Produce high-quality data and provide technical documentation that enables data driven business decisions
  • Provide strategic ideas that drive the enhancement of current product lines or the development of new product lines to drive increased profit based on a detailed understanding of materials, equipment, and customer operations
  • Develop, design, and conduct trials that validate the performance of the equipment, materials, and their interactions to provide the most robust solution to our customers
  • Manage projects to enable supply chain improvements to manufacturing processes and raw materials by quantifying the impact of these changes on the performance of the materials
  • Present status of development and continuous improvement projects and the impact of the projects on company-wide objectives


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) with 5+ years relevant experience in food processing, packaging, and/or product development
  • Experience leading teams and presenting project status to large groups
  • Experience creating data-driven reports to communicate technical ideas
  • Flexible to travel domestically and internationally, up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Design for Lean Six Sigma
  • Minitab/ SAS or other statistical software
  • Specific experience with food packaging processes, equipment, and applications is desired
