Integrated Device Technology is looking for talented applications engineers eager to work with industry-leading low jitter timing and consumer products. The applications engineering team routinely collaborates with marketing, sales, design and product engineering teams to assist with product definition, early stage design-in technical assistance, and production level product support. Your everyday work will have a significant impact on customer relationships, winning designs across IDT’s timing product portfolio and planning for future timing products.


Basic Qualifications

  • Board schematics and layout reviews for customer boards
  • PCI Express protocol trace capture, review and debug
  • Onsite debug of customer systems / boards for PCI Express related issues
  • Train customers on PCI Express Switches and Retimers
  • Create Application Notes
  • Run Signal Integrity Simulations


Preferred Skills & Knowledge

  • Thorough knowledge of PCI Express protocol with hands-on experience with PCI Express Switches, Bridges and Retimers at board level design debug
  • Experienced with Protocol Analyzers, high speed scopes and other test equipment
  • Good communication skills including technical writing and dealing with customers in high pressure lab debug set ups
  • Working knowledge of Mandarin is a definite plus
  • May require travel within and outside the USA on short notice, several times a year, for onsite debug or customer training
  • Must be able to review schematics and board layout files to find shortcomings/errors in high speed designs
  • Must be able to work with multiple teams including peers in the applications engineering team as well as production engineering, test engineering, marketing, sales, customers, etc


Education and/or Experience

BSEE requiredMSEE preferred
