Our client, a global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced technology professional to join their team, located in the Northeast, to work in the capacity of Senior AI/Robotics Specialist.

The chosen candidate will join a team who is responsible for developing and demonstrating perception systems, which are often used in conjunction with information systems, remote control, semi -autonomous, and fully autonomous machine control systems. The ideal candidate would be characterized as a Computer Vision Perception Expert who would possess experience in an exciting and technically challenging Automation Systems Development team. The successful candidate will focus on the development and application of perception technologies and systems.




*Research and develop new technology

* Apply deep learning perception algorithms on embedded platforms for prototype and production

* Develop features such as personnel detect, object detect, terrain mapping, machine cycle automation utilizing camera perception technology on various machines

* Develop techniques to resolve real world perception problems in tough environments such as night, snow, fog, dust

* Demonstrate technology developed to internal business units and key external customers

* Sensor fusion techniques development

MS or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or related discipline is required.

7 ? 10 years of experience in computer vision or perception systems is required.

Experience with perception sensors including LIDAR, radar, and cameras

Expertise in perception systems including Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and 3D Point Cloud Processing is required.

Excellent C++ and Matlab programming and software design skills to support high performance perception systems is required.

Expert in designing, building and integrating state of the art learning algorithms and training these from large data sets for computer vision applications

Experience with embedded Linux and real time systems is required.

Experience in computer vision techniques such as localization, visual odometry, SLAM, image reconstruction is preferred

Experience in developing embedded computational platforms including hardware accelerated platforms such as FPGAs, GPUs, and real-time CPUs is a strong plus.

Must be highly motivated, self-starter, learner

Experience mentoring junior team members is a plus, but not required.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams is essential in this role.

Experience utilizing MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, etc.) is required.

Strong verbal and written communication skills (Verbal, written and interpersonal) are required.

Ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment and multi-tasking is required.
