  • Analyze, define, and manage requirements
  • Analyze function & performance
  • Detail trade studies
  • Design, integrate, and test/verify systems
  • Validate and interface definition studies of subsystem or system elements under supervision of lead systems engineer
  • Perform technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability & effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elements
  • Analyze customer requirements, develop system requirements, and define allocations to lower levels (elements and components)
  • Perform detailed technical analyses for a subsystem or system elements
  • Develop and evaluate systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet governmental security specifications
  • Participate in Modeling and Simulation
  • Research and analyze data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
  • Support generation of technical engineering products via appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
  • Independently determine proposed approach to solutions
  • Contributes to the completion of major programs and projects
  • Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
  • Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Design complete and complex framework, system or product
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses and other diverse, complex problems
  • Regular contact with senior levels of internal work groups
  • Contact with Deputy Program Managers Engineering (DPME) and other professionals within the Engineering department and with project teams across the company
  • Frequent contact with external customers
  • Travel may be required
  • May provide leadership and/or direction to lower level employees
  • May provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features (e.g., identification, authentication, access control, labeling, and auditing) of the system are considered and function properly
  • May develop system security documentation on both new and fielded information systems


  • Required – active Secret clearance. Candidates without active clearance will not be considered.
  • Proficient use and understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Proficient knowledge of other related disciplines
  • Proficient with requirements management & system modeling tools
  • Recognizes various architectural patterns
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to sell concepts and ideas, to multi-task, think creatively, take initiative, exercise independent judgment, professionally execute projects, and work with little direction
  • Able to grasp and apply new information quickly and effectively handle complex assignments
  • Skilled in communicating issues, impacts, corrective actions, and reports on sound systems engineering design – whether written or verbal

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Systems engineering, related field, or equivalent experiencerequired, and 5+ years’ experience; or Master's and 3+ years’ experience.
  • Agile experiencepreferred.
