Bachelor's degree in a computer science, information technology, engineering, or scientific field or the equivalent is required plusa minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Advanced IFS Business Systems Analyst. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
The Business Systems Analysis IT role is a blend of traditional Business Analyst and Systems Analyst disciplines. They use their highlevel of IFS 9 technical expertise to consult and collaborate with business leaders, IT staff, and other third parties to develop, deliver, and optimize business capabilities & related IFS 9 custom systems. They often act as integrated team leads and facilitate small projects or initiatives.
Solicits and captures desired business outcomes, future strategies, demands, actions, and plans
Develops recommendations and business case rationales for investment in new or enhancements to the IFS 9 solution.
Investigates, identifies, analyzes, and captures business systems, process, information, and other forms of detailed specifications & requirements related to IFS 9 requests.
Supports the development and delivery of an IFS 9 related solution leveraging knowledge of: business end-users, stakeholders, goals, requirements, current and desired future states
Translates business requirements to related technical IFS 9 specifications and interfaces with other technical staff to design, develop, and maintain solution
May occasionally evaluate IFS Oracle database code, scripts, custom Oracle interfaces, and configurations, even modifying such to some extent
Plans and executes IFS unit, integration and acceptance testing
Partners with business end-user community and IT staff to refine, tune, train, promote adoption and optimize the IFS 9 environment
Understands organizations, information, systems, policies, processes, metrics, opportunities, challenges, risks, and constraints
Investigates and evaluates alternatives for, and assess feasibility of, improvements in information, technology, process, and/or organizational systems
Performs other duties as directed
Leads, plans, and executes small initiatives
Moderate business travel required
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Evidence of ability to act with little daily instruction on tasks of diverse scope using a seasoned professional understanding of the Business Systems Analysis discipline
Exhibits solid knowledge on how the IFS 9 solution was constructed. Preferred experience working with the Defense Manufacturing Extension (DME) but not required
Prior work experience as a IFS 9 Business Analyst or IFS 9 Systems Analyst capturing, analyzing, and translating business requirements, specifications, processes, and business cases is required
Broad experience of the IFS software and/or business analysis frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
Strong track record of being capable of working with significant uncertainty, resistance, barriers, issues and challenges; converting uncertainty into quantifiable impact, risk and mitigating actions
Solid understanding of specific business area/ business process, including: Manufacturing, Procurement, Human Resources, and Contracts
Has ability to analyze situations, alternatives, proposals, designs, architectures, risks, data, systems, and constructs
Solid experience creating user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and test plans/cases
Solid knowledge of Oracle SQL queries for data transfer or business reporting preferred
Solid understanding of solutions development methodologies (e.g. DevOps, Agile, Software Development Lifecycle, etc.)
Strong familiarity with common software tools including MSVisio, MS Excel, and MS Project
Proven experience developing solutions to a variety of challenging problems of broader scope and complexity, using established procedures
A track record of high level personal performance

A history that illustrates flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs and shows exposure to overcoming fundamental change obstacles

IFS 9 work experience required; proven experience working with the IFS 9 Defense Manufacturing Extension is preferred.
