Develops, interprets, communicates, and implements policies and procedures in support of multiple hospital, clinic and/or ambulatory sites. Collaborates with System level medical and administrative management in development of strategic goals and objectives. Oversees all staffing; collaborates in developing and monitoring budgets; analyzes efficiency, quality of care, and compliance; acts as liaison with related departments; and keeps current with related academic, national and legislative issues.

  1. Develops, interprets, communicates, and implements policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance among Physician Assistants for assigned multiple clinical sites.
  2. Collaborates with System level medical management and senior administration in determining and establishing protocols related to clinical quality, standards of care and work flow optimization as well as planning strategic goals and objectives, implementation and evaluation of operations and outcomes of assigned departments.
  3. Develops and monitors budgets related to Physician Assistants to manage financial resources effectively.
  4. Supports key revenue cycle functions including charge capture and referral management. May collaborate with Ambulatory Services (PAANS) to optimize billing practices and collection of Part B revenues.
  5. Acts as liaison with associated Departments to maintain and improve volume, quality and revenue generation.
  6. Oversees staffing and systems analysis to ensure maximum efficiency and quality of care.
  7. Collaborates with Chief Residents to coordinate the provisions of quality patient care and teaching program to include Residency and Fellowship programs.
  8. Maintains high academic and clinical standards, and promotes this to the community by way of lectures, publication and site visitation.
  9. Acts as liaison with Physician Assistant Programs to provide teaching resources. Develops and implements curriculum for Physician’s Assistant training in compliance with professional, regulatory and legislative requirements.
  10. Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, NYS DOH, HIPPA, Corporate Compliance, Institutional and Departmental rules and regulations and ensures they are reflected in the Policy and Procedure manual.
  11. Maintains contact with the State Education Department to stay current on legislation.
  12. Keeps all departments informed of national issues relevant to utilization of Physician Assistants.
  13. Functions as a resource for assigned sites regarding Physician Assistant issues
  14. Collaborates with the Medical Board to ensure proper credentialing of Physician Assistants.
  15. Performs related duties, as required.

  • Master’s Degree in a related field, required.
  • Licensed Registered Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education, required. Board Certified, required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience including five (5) years clinical experience and a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible management experience, required.
  • Extensive knowledge of health care marketplace, financial analysis, budgets and operational analysis, required.
