LEO Pharma is looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator in our Madison NJ office.

The role's Overall objective is the execution and oversight of the Accounts Payable's process and assistance during the accounting month end close process. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of AP experience, with the added benefit of working in the Pharmaceutical industry and with an international financial services team. This individual should have analytical and communication skills, strong computer skills, be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. The role reports to the Sr. Manager, Accounting.

Accounts Payable Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee entire accounts payable process for all vendors
  • Preparation and processing of accounts payable invoices and payments ensuring that payments are timely and accurate
  • Generate, update and close purchase orders for approved purchase order requests
  • Match checks/payments with invoices; file documentation
  • Address and resolves open issues with Financial Shared Service Center located in Denmark
  • Perform sorting and filing clerical duties and ensure filing is up to date
  • Answer inquiries from vendors and employees on status of Purchase orders and/or payments
  • Prepare urgent payment requests as needed
  • Enforce company-wide adherence to Financial Approval Policy
  • Record accounts payable-related accruals during accounting month end close (including Espresso accrual and unprocessed invoice accrual)
  • Process new Espresso application forms and maintain active user listing
  • Support Compliance team in relation to Aggregate Spend Reporting needs
  • Support Business Finance and Procurement teams in relation to Subcontracting Reporting needs
  • Perform annual business corporation filings including payment of annual dues
  • Perform accounts payable reconciliation to AP aging and generalledger
    • Respond to AP related requests with respect to internal and external audits


  • Complete all company-based and job-related training as assigned by LEO Pharma within the required timeline.
  • Other ad hoc assignments as required

Required Skills:

  • Excellent PC skills; proficiency in MS excel and MS word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of personnel
  • 5 years A/P or equivalent experience in fast paced, high volume environment
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • SAP and SharePoint experience is required
  • Pharmaceutical industry a plus
