Responsibilities

  • Supervise general accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable staff including up to five direct reports
  • Analyze consolidated (US and Canada) monthly, quarterly and annual financial information
  • Manage and support the monthly close process for efficiency, timeliness and accuracy
  • Maintain accounting staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees as needed
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of work products and balance workload among personnel
  • Coordinate the annual financial audit by external auditors
  • Establish and maintain systems, processes and controls which ensure the integrity and accuracy of all reported financial results
  • Partner with the Finance department for greater efficiencies in the monthly close and reporting process
  • Manage the preparation of accounting entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Oversee inter-company accounting between the US and Global regions
  • Creation and maintenance of financial accounting procedures and policies
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Degree in accounting, CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of related experience including 3 years of management experience including developing, training, and mentoring staff
  • Experience preparing GAAP financial statements and a thorough understanding of accounting principles, practices and internal controls
  • Experience working in a multi-national organization
  • Advanced Excel
  • Strong business acumen and ability to exercise positive influence in cross-functional teams
  • Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills as well as excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced organization where you can make a difference
  • Big 4 or large accounting firm experience highly desired
