Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for moderate to complex accounting activities and ensuring the integrity of the financial information by recording, analyzing, verifying, and approving transactions for the United States entities. Responsible for select portions of internal and external financial reporting and support. This position will interact with many different departments including plant controllers, external auditors, corporate consolidations, financial planning, and analysis, as well as operational teams. Responsible for managing assigned projects and overseeing the completion of certain cross-functional and/or cross-site activities.

*This position requires working onsite in Lake Zurich, IL on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Remaining days may be worked remotely.

• Salary Range: $93,000-97,000
• Position is eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan with a target of 6% of the base salary.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and ensure assigned accounts are reconciled in accordance with the monthly close schedule and department guidelines. Identify discrepancies, errors, and omissions and lead efforts for timely resolution.
  • Prepare schedules and analysis to support inventory reserve calculations.
  • Lead the accounting of intangible assets and/or lead the accounting of lease transition in accordance with IFRS 16.
  • Support intercompany accounting activity.
  • Preparation of monthly cost center reclasses and accrual journal entries.
  • Review and update assumptions used in significant estimates and accruals, prepare related journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Maintain, update, and ensure compliance with internal controls and account month-end close procedures within assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS requirements, and other relevant accounting regulations in relation to relevant areas of responsibility.
  • Analyze new transactions and advise colleagues on proper accounting treatment and reporting as needed.
  • Preparation of moderate and complex quarterly and annual reporting schedules mainly to support legal and management reporting requirements, involves following up with reporting unit controllers as questions arise.
  • Provide assistance to reporting units in correcting errors and resolving issues.
  • Prepare schedules for year end and quarterly audits, interact with audit team to resolve open items and address audit concerns.
  • Assist with Internal Controls
  • Cross train and act as back up for other Senior Accountants within the department
  • Lead and support special projects

Job Requirements
