Position Description:

  • Participate in month-end activities including the preparation and review of journal entries and review of budget-to-actual reports

  • Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, consolidation and reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled with resolution to reconciling items

  • Reconcile general ledger, post journal entries, and assist with the preparation of financial statements

  • Accruals, fixed-assets continuity schedule, revenue recognition & variance analysis

  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and post eliminating journal entries

  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.

  • Verify and analyze business records, transactions and procedures

  • Prepare schedules for quarterly reviews and year-end audit for independent external auditors. Research issues, clarify information and prepare supporting data.

  • Work closely with intercompany partners on intercompany reconciliations

  • Prepare auditschedules and filing sales/use tax forms in multi-state environments

  • Prepare Bank Reconciliations & Cash Flow Statement

  • Prepare & analyze Management reports as and when required

  • FX revaluations on AP, AP and Intercompany balances

  • Ensure compliance with Flowserve policies, US GAAP, SOX and local statutory laws and regulations and that the business is conducted with Flowserve's ethical code of business conduct

  • Support internal and external audit processes for both financial and Sarbanes Oxley requirements

  • Completions of administrative records as needed by government or legislative bodies

  • Assist in Flowserve Canada Corporation reporting; forecasts, results, and budgets

Position Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting along with a Professional designation: CA, CMA or CGA

  • Must have 5-7 years of experience in a Manufacturing background

  • Ability to work flexible hours, occasional evenings and weekend

  • Must have experience with using a corporate reporting system like SAP or Oracle

  • Must be at an advanced level with MS Excel

  • Must demonstrate the ability to be a team player, work with a sense of urgency, able to meet deadlines and a \"can do\" attitude

  • This role requires someone to be detail oriented and have a solid background in Financial accounting, Cost Accounting, Budgeting & Forecasting Internal controls and SOXexperiencerequired

  • Must be able to fulfill management duties in absence of manager as needed

  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of plant associates, senior executives and external bodies

  • Perform all aspects of the job responsibilities in a manner that ensures the complete accuracy and integrity of financial system records

  • Works independently to resolve a wide variety of complex financial accounting problems

  • Provide leadership in responsible area to associates at all levels from location management to BU financial management to manufacturing associates

  • Understand various programs for the PC, Microsoft Suite

  • Prepare and analyze reports and initiate corrections

  • Provide strong guidance to locationassociates in the execution of Flowserve's financial policies and procedures and SOX compliance

  • Participate in cross-training and mentoring


  • Experience with Oracle BPC would be a definite asset

  • Experience with US GAAP would be an asset

  • Experience working with a Publicly Traded Company is preferred
