The role of Senior Accountant, Reporting and Compliance, which will be located out of our Thunder Bay Finance office,is responsible for the accounting and finance reporting functions and to ensure that the Company accounting procedures comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, International Accounting Rules (IFRS) and Company policies.
•Ensure that the Company’s monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial reporting is completed and submitted to Corporate in an accurate and timely manner.
•Assist with the preparation of management reports for review by senior management.
•Assist with the preparation of the monthly and quarterly forecasts.
•Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
•Review and evaluate the impact of new accounting pronouncements and legislative developments on quarterly and annual reporting and related disclosures.
•Perform analyses of capital and operating expenditures to budget to reconcile variances.
•Identify and implement opportunities for reporting and analyzing of financial, cost and productivity data to driveimprovements and efficiencies.
•Ensure that internal control processes and procedures are appropriately documented, tested and evaluated as required under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and NI 52-109 legislation.
•Assist with the monthly and quarterly compilation, preparation and submission of information relating to contractual and regulatory filings requirements.
•Assist with the compilation of supporting documentation and preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
•Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Accounting Rules (IFRS).
•Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
•Professional writtenand verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to produce quality materials within tight time frames.
•Minimum of five years of accounting experience.•CPA designation.
