Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for executing monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis) in compliance with GAAP including the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant financial reports. This position also acts as one of the central point of contacts for intercompany accounting and invoicing and serves as one of the key contacts for support and clarifications. Alongside the Assistant Controller, this individual will assist in the standardization of the intercompany management and clearing process with a roll up your sleeves attitude and be ready to assist in processing transactions, journalizing, financial reporting, and other ad hoc accounting projects.
Responsibilities: - Responsible for general accounting duties including leading and participating in the close process, analyzing data and GL accounts, preparing journal entries for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, leases, loan amortizations, intercompany transactions, etc.
- Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
- Responsible for intercompany management, including clearing and reconciliation
- Perform financial analysis and generate conclusions and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company standards and controls
- Comply with legal and ethical standards
- Follow up on all outstanding issues on a timely basis
- Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls
- Assist with special projects and department goals, Ad-hoc projects as necessary
- Proactively identify areas of opportunity / weakness and recommend solutions
- Developing Accounting / Finance staff
Qualifications: - 3+ years of related financial analysis, audit or accounting experience (prior experience in intercompany accounting is a plus)
- Big 4 or regional firm public accounting experience is preferred
- Expertise in generally accepted accounting practices with CPA certification preferred
- Ability to build partnerships across departments and partners
- Comfortable working in dynamic and fast-paced environment with ability to be flexible
- Position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- QuickBooks experience is preferred but not required
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prepare work accurately and timely
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Career-oriented with Interest in advancement
- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Education: - Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting is required with a CPA preferred
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Club Monaco includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This accounts for the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $90,000 per year to $110,000 per year.
