Job Summary

Support M&A and Technical Accounting teams through accounting integration of newly acquired entities, researching and preparing analysis to support accounting judgments, and development of accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP, SEC, and regulatory guidelines to facilitate throughout the organization.

The following are responsibilities of the Sr. Accountant, M&A and Technical Accounting position:
• Assist with M&A accounting and integration of newly acquired companies, including due diligence, opening balance sheet preparation, accounting policy alignment, valuations, and other finance/accounting integration support.
• Provide input into acquisition/integration plan to ensure all identified significant accounting related impacts are properly considered and partner with various teams to execute finance integration milestones.
• Create workbooks supporting key M&A accounting conclusions including any adjustments between acquiree and CRL policies.
• Research accounting literature and apply technical standards to complex business issues and transactions, including revenue recognition, business combinations, divestitures, investments, leases, impairment valuations, inventory, tax, stock-based compensation, pensions, and consolidation assessments.
• Prepare accounting and financial reporting position papers for review by management and external auditors.
• Assist with identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives.
• Understand and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley controls. Partner with the Internal Controls team to ensure accurate and timely controls established for new acquisitions and execute on quarterly Technical Accounting controls.
• Identify sustainable strategic improvements, suggest corrective actions, coordinate implementation and track efficiencies achieved across M&A and Technical activities and other areas of focus.
• Assist in the implementation of new accounting guidance issued by FASB or the SEC, including researching and recommending the proper accounting and reporting application.
• Assist in updating and implementing accounting policies and procedures to respond to changes in the Company's business, and SEC/GAAP regulations.
• Provide support during the quarter/year end close to the External Reporting team.
• Perform ad-hoc accounting analysis and projects and other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Sr. Accountant, M&A and Technical Accounting position:
• Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in accounting or related discipline
• 3 to 5 years of related experience with at least two of the required years with a national or regional CPA firm and/or commercial company. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
• Excellent spreadsheet skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
• Strong analytical skills required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner with various teams within finance and business/operations required.

Preferred Qualifications
The following are Preferred Qualifications related to the Sr. Accountant, M&A and Technical Accounting position:
• Master's Degree in Business Administration preferred
• M&A accounting experience
• CPA
• Experience with SAP
