Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting operations, monthly close process, compliance with accounting and tax policies, and regulatory and operational reporting requirements.  This position must be able to understand business trends and transactions to ensure effective internal controls, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, as well as, key regulatory requirements.  The Senior Accountant will lead initiatives with regard to process improvement, reporting and analytical analysis to promote more efficient and effective operational performance and timely delivery of meaningful financialreports.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the technical accountant to evaluate existing and new accounting rules/literature and recommend appropriate actions and/or procedures for practical application for all assigned areas of responsibility


    • Serve as the backup to the Accounts Payable process


    • Perform the monthly analysis related to our project WIP to determine proper status of projects and reconciliation to the general ledger.


    • Responsible for all aspects of intercompany accounting for our wholly-owned India subsidiary as well as all other transactions between Danaher Operating Companies


    • Assist with the cost accounting structure and transactional processing for all manufacturing operation areas


    • Responsible for all monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closings for assigned areas of responsibility including account reconciliations, reporting packages, KPI’s and internal audit control sheets


    • Responsible for the preparation, recording and filing of personal property and sales & use taxes


    • Responsible for Fixed Assets including monthly roll-forward and account reconciliation including working closely with our purchasing agent to ensure proper capture of capital expenditure items


    • Management of prepaid expenses including scheduled expense rollout and account reconciliation


    • Implement and monitor appropriate internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness and proper supporting documentation with regard to financial information


    • Key participant in Sarbanes Oxley compliance including Danaher internal audit process as well as any future external audit requirements


    • Assist with the PBC requirements for the corporate tax package


    • Prepare all census and survey information required by the Department of Commerce and other authorities


    • Assess and propose systems enhancements to promote process improvement at all levels of the organization including active participation in and/or serving as the team lead for system projects


    • Foster an environment of collaboration, process improvement, efficiency and accuracy in accounting and financial operations; as well as, throughout the entire organization


    • Serve as a “Lead” in the implementation of selected accounting ERP. This role will work closely with accounting, finance, operational departments, IT, external implementation project managers and system integrators to ensure timely and successful system implementation.

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA a plus


    • Minimum of 5years related experience


    • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills


    • Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced, growing and dynamic environment


    • Proficient in all applications of the Microsoft Office suite


    • Experience with Baan, Luca Net (N4LN), and manufacturing environments a plus


  • International experience, including foreign currency translations and revaluations a plus
